I've been in public education for about 11 years. I taught 5th grade for 6 years, then transitioned to working as a talent scout to identify students who might be academically and/or intellectually gifted to ensure they received enrichment services at school.

At or for work:

  • Led my school with virtual learning PD when COVID hit and supported administration

  • Presented at a tech conference with Promethean at NCTIES

  • Helped teachers make school fun with STEAM ideas and supporting learners with ADHD and other learning needs

  • Written songs/raps for students to learn content - our test scores prove it works!

Outside of work:

  • Wrote and recorded a professionally produced EP (Miles Away) that’s on major music platforms

  • Performed at Hopscotch in Raleigh

  • Co-lead the creative design team and helped build a set in a music video (Feels Like)

  • Worked as a chalk muralist

  • Painted live art for a NAMI event

  • Taught Lettering classes

  • Organized a charity event for Camp Joy which provides a fun and loving space for adults with special needs
